🐾 Two Years In: Still Doing Things Properly

It’s been two years since The Hound & Heather opened its doors — and we’re proud to have become part of the fabric of Hindhead. Whether you’ve popped in post-walk with the dog, gathered the family for Sunday lunch, or just stopped by for a pint on the terrace, thank you. We’ve loved every minute.

Our kitchen’s built on big flavour, not big fuss. You’ll find proper pub plates made from scratch — like cider-battered cod with triple-cooked chips, wild mushroom quiche, or our much-loved chicken club sandwich. No stacked gimmicks, just honest dishes that hit the spot.

🔥 Cosy, Welcoming, and Unpretentious

Inside, it’s all low beams, soft lighting, and the kind of warmth you only get from a proper country pub. Whether it’s Tuesday lunch or a Saturday night table for six, we keep things relaxed. Fires in winter, cold pints in summer, and friendly faces all year round.

🐶 Dog-Friendly, Walker-Welcoming

We’re right on the doorstep of the Devil’s Punch Bowl and Hindhead Commons — so muddy boots, wagging tails, and windswept cheeks are always welcome here. There’s water for the pups, biscuits behind the bar, and a shady spot waiting outside when the sun’s out.

📍 Right Where You Need Us

We’re not a fine-dining destination. We’re not a chain. We’re the kind of place you can come back to — for a pint, a pie, or a proper meal with friends. Whether you’re local or just passing through, we’ve got a seat by the fire with your name on it.

📆 Book a Table

We’re open every day, and weekends fill quickly — especially for our two or three-course set menu (served Mon–Sat).
